Non-Task Force (click to see video)
The Non-Task Force Group was created in 2006 to combat Code Enforcements aging cases. These cases are identified as High Risk properties which may be more difficult to achieve compliance. Some were rejected from the City Attorneys Office and others were referred from follow up inspections due to jurisdictional issues. These cases typically have access issues; a change of ownership or simply were not fully addressed due to departmental procedure issues in the past. The highly trained Non-Task Force Group deals with owners who have been resistant to complying for years. This inspection group is required to be more diligent and assertive in order to gain compliance. The inspector’s office time is increased to accomplish the research and file preparation that is required for these difficult cases. These inspectors act as their own case managers and often play a much larger role in preparing the narrative for court than the average inspector due to their advanced familiarity with the case.
