Attached flyer is provided in support of the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment’s (DONE) concerted effort to reach out to new stakeholders to encourage them to become involved with Neighborhood Councils. DONE and the Mayor's office, in partnership with Neighborhood Council leaders across the city, are sponsoring the Congress of Neighborhoods and the Mayor's Community Budget Day on October 10 at City Hall. In light of the significant reductions in city services - this is a great opportunity to dialogue with neighborhood leaders on their views of the proposed service reductions and to build allies to help communicate the true impact of the current budget crisis. DONE anticipates over 500 of the most active civic volunteer leaders in the city. There will be a briefing by the Mayor and CAO on the city budget crisis as well as workshops on how to build effective partnerships with city departments and elected officials and a variety of other timely and relevant topics.
