HEARING SECTION MISSION STATEMENT

The Hearing Section is responsible for operating the Los Angeles Housing Department's (LAHD's) hearing function under the authority of and in accordance with various City of Los Angeles Ordinances and Rent Adjustment Commission (RAC) Regulations and Guidelines. The hearings are conducted by Hearing Officers designated by the LAHD's General Manager in response to appeals received from affected parties and to referrals received from enforcement agencies. All appeals and referrals are reviewed to ensure that deadlines and filing requirements have been met.

The Hearing Section performs eligibility determination, scheduling, noticing, preparation, decision issuance, and technical assistance related activities.
