Individually Metered Apartment Vacancy Survey data and Residential Meter Activity data are produced on a monthly basis by the City of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and distributed by the Los Angeles Housing Department. Please refer to the background information sheet for descriptions of this data and explanations of terms used.

 All data are updated monthly, as soon as the reports are prepared and delivered to LAHD. Data are provided by DWP late in the month for the previous month. For example, September data are made available in late October. The last update was May 13, 2012 and data is not being updated at the moment . For general questions, please call (213) 808-8809.

There are 35 Community Plan Areas in the City of Los Angeles. This report indicates the number of multi-family, individually metered housing units served by DWP, the number of those units with idle meters, and the percent of units idle.

Please note that February 2002 is the last month for which this report is available.

There are 6 CIPAs in the City of Los Angeles. This report indicates the number of multi-family, individually metered housing units served by DWP, the number of those units with idle meters, and the percent of units idle. CIPAs are also refered to as Labor Market Planning Areas (LMPAs).

There are 226 zip codes included in this report. Many of these zip codes cross into areas not monitored by the City. This report indicates the number of multi-family, individually metered housing units served by DWP, the number of those units with idle meters, and the percent of units idle.

The number of master-metered buildings and units are also indicated. The data is not yet available by 2000 U.S. Census tracts.
